Platform Development

Give your team a shared system for managing work. Byteable develops web platforms around the records people use and the decisions they need to make.

Start with a defined workflow

This service suits work that has outgrown separate spreadsheets or needs different access for staff and administrators. A proposed platform might organize inventory or manage course enrollment. We agree the records and permissions needed for your workflow before choosing features. Reports, integrations and companion apps belong in the scope only when the work needs them.

Define the rules before development

Bring the people who enter records and those who review them into scoping. Define required fields, permitted changes and what happens when a request is rejected or data is incomplete. Design reviews make those decisions visible before staged development. Agree acceptance examples using test data, then review working flows at milestones. Data migration requires a separate plan for mapping and checking existing records before any live change.

Prepare a useful starting brief

  • Describe one workflow from its first input to its final decision, including exceptions.
  • List user roles and who should be allowed to view or change each record.
  • Share anonymized sample records and existing system documentation, without customer data or passwords.
  • Name the business reviewer and identify integration access or migration constraints.

Related platform work

Arabiya shows SIM inventory filtering and distribution directories organized by city and zone. ST-Internal shows balance review, a service directory and manual-operation preparation; the demonstrated form was not submitted, so it does not prove transaction processing. Mahara shows learner course and lesson interfaces alongside training administration and enrollment records. These presentations use demonstration data, not measured business or learning outcomes.

Questions about delivery and operation

Can it replace our current system at once? Scope the migration and any period of parallel operation first. Agree which records move, who verifies them and the conditions for switching systems.

Who owns the platform and operates it? Agree source-code ownership, third-party licences, hosting access and handover materials in the contract. Assign responsibility for backups and recovery checks rather than assuming these are included.

Are support and future growth included? Agree maintenance, the support period and any response commitments explicitly. Capacity requirements and security checks need defined acceptance criteria; no platform should be assumed to handle unspecified usage.

Discuss your workflow

Send Byteable the workflow you want to improve, the roles involved and the systems it must connect to. Include known constraints so the first discussion can separate essential work from later additions.
